| Hello! My name is Andy Knight and I thank you for visiting my website and taking an interest in the saddles I make. I have been married to Ruth for 23 years and have 3 daughters - Tracy, Tania and Tessa and have been building saddles since 1978 (just over 25 years). I started out in Calgary, Alberta with the Kenway Saddle Co. and after I finished there, I decided to branch out on my own with Knight's Saddlery. My shop is located in Merritt, British Columbia and is surrounded by some of the finest grasslands and ranches in Canada. It is one of the few areas where cowboyin' is still done on horseback, instead of on Yamaha's. As a saddle maker, being in such close proximity to these ranches has enabled me to 'test' saddles extensively, as well as work closely with the cowboys, ranches and horsemen who make a living riding. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to build many different styles of saddles, to fit horses of almost any type of conformation. Since 1992, I have also been building my own saddle trees. This came about due to the difficulty in obtaining high quality trees. This has enhanced my ability to build any style of saddle, to fit any type of horse. This website is a mere sampling of the work I have done and can do. As you look through the various pages, please bear in mind that each and every saddle has been custom made to order to meet each individual customer's specifications. We are open from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm PST - Monday thru Friday (some Saturdays). We invite you to stop by for a visit if you are in the area. As we enjoy a "western lifestyle", there may be some occasions when we are "out of the shop", so please call ahead to make sure we're here! Also, as we always have some horses around, if you wish to try out one of our saddles, just let us know! If you have any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to call.
